At ITW Contamination Control EMEA, health and safety are the top priorities within the organization. To have our team prepared for emergencies, we organize a yearly BHV (Bedrijfshulpverlening – Emergency Response) training for everyone in our organization. Having everyone equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond in case of an emergency is vitally important for day-to-day operations and also teaches us how to respond until professional aid can arrive at our premises. Our yearly BHV course includes theoretical training, provided by professional Emergency Response trainers from Kompas Veiligheidsgroep BV, which is then followed by a few practical exercises. During these exercises, our team is taught how to effectively and safely extinguish small fires to replicate several different workplace fire types. They are also trained in how to assess a situation and correctly move an injured person to a safe location, demonstrating their understanding by practicing on the provided mannequins. The team managed to navigate the course successfully and everyone passed the course with flying colours! This means that at ITW Contamination Control EMEA, we reduce the risk...

Across industries, there’s a growing push to reduce waste and promote more conscious consumption. Whether that’s charging for plastic bags, switching to cardboard packaging, or offering discounts for bringing reusable cups. These small changes help make a big difference. But in the world of textiles, progress is slower. In fact, only around 1% of textiles are recycled into new textiles globally. The rest often ends up in landfills or is downcycled into lower-grade materials. In cleanroom environments, reusing wipes isn’t an option. Due to strict quality and contamination control standards, wipes must be produced in controlled environments and only used once. With Texwipe, we’re focused on reducing waste wherever possible, starting with packaging. While we offer a standard wipe count per bag, we also tailor packaging based on our customers’ actual usage patterns. If customers use high-volume, we offer larger pack sizes to reduce the amount of packaging waste and minimize handling time. Low-volume or intermittent use? We provide smaller packs to minimize the amount of open product in the cleanroom. This helps reduce the risk of contamination and...

ITW Contamination Control EMEA has been participating in the charity Ride (and Walk) for the Roses, taking place in the Netherlands, for a few years now and this all started in 2017 when a few brave souls from our office decided to join the 100 KM cycling tour to raise money and awareness into battling cancer. What follows is a short interview with Menno Niehe, Managing Director of ITW Contamination Control EMEA, about this first adventure and how our participation grew throughout the years. What was the reasoning for you and the rest of the team to participate in this 2017 edition of the Ride for the Roses? Menno: “I had participated in the Ride a few times privately already, first as a challenge with a friend in 2011, and later becoming more involved with the research topics of the Ride due to a few people in my surroundings getting into contact with cancer." When in 2017 the Ride would take place near to where our office is located, I was able to convince a few others from the...
